As an out-of-state visitor I thought, "I'm gonna suffer the price on this repair." but was pleasantly surprised when I was given the word on what I needed. I had managed to clip a concrete car stop in a parking lot with my front tire. I realized it was there too late and knew it would be a significant slam on my car rolling off of it. It was--WHAM! So, after looking to see nothing was leaking and no car parts were on the ground, I gingerly drove back to where I was staying and stayed put until Monday morning. I knew something was wrong as sharp turns produced a metal rubbing noise.
I found AutoPro when searching for AAA-approved auto shops and this business popped up AND had a lot of very good reviews. I left a message on Sunday I hoped to get in early Monday. 1st thing Monday morning, the owner called and told me he could look at my car. I took it in and waited for the news.
After inspection, he told me, yes, I managed to bend the sway bar (hard to do!). Fortunately, it was still safely drivable even from Nashville, TN back to Loveland, OH. However, the mechanic noticed I had cracks in and chunks out of my drive belt. (I had previously been advised 2x of cracks by my mechanic at home but I didn't replace it--$$$.) The owner said that really was a safety issue (I knew it was--engine could have stopped on the highway!) and he recommended I replace it. I did.
I love these little life incidents where God gets my attention. When I slammed my car, I knew it would be bad but I really had no choice. I said, "Please, God, don't let this be more than a couple hundred dollars to fix." While my sway bar has been untouched, my car is fine to drive and my drive belt is new. Price, you ask? $199.33. Yup. Under a couple hundred bucks. God listens and in God's time, answers. Glad God's timing worked well for me ;)
Honest shop. Pleasant employees. Proficient work. Definitely recommend!
P.S. I had my regular mechanics at Columbia Hyundai check my car out when I got home. They confirmed everything. :)
